Shearling Sofa

Frits Schlegel
1930

Attributed to Danish architect and designer Frits Schlegel in the late 1930s, this rare two-seater sofa is distinguished by its gently curved, tufted backrest, sculptural silhouette and dark-stained wooden legs. The piece has been newly upholstered in soft shearling, complementing the warmth and organic character of its form.

As a key figure in modern Danish architecture and design, Schlegel was among the pioneers who bridged classical Nordic proportions with functionalist furniture craftsmanship during the 1930s and 1940s.
